1. Welcome to our first Newsletter

Were excited to announce our first Newsletter - highlighting upcoming events the next two weeks.

We at ElbScene are really glad and grateful for this amazing reception and start. ElbScene was born out of our own frustration of not finding Events in time and were happy to now help other people with this issue as well.

Just today we improved the discover page and in the upcoming weeks we have alot of other features, quality of life improvements and visual updates planned to our Website so stay tuned and dont forget to check events.

2. How to: Pitchdecks #RoastingEdition

📅 Wed, April 1 · 17:30–19:00 · Körber Start-Hub, Kehrwieder 12 (2nd floor)

Your pitch deck might be killing your chances — and you might not even know it.

This workshop brings in Nikola Seidel, someone who's not just worked in the startup space but has been in the room during funding rounds and actively researches how investors actually make decisions. He's seen the full spectrum — from polished storytelling to pure buzzword bingo — and he'll be taking real pitch decks apart, live, to show what works and what doesn't.

It's hands-on, it's honest, and if you're currently fundraising (or planning to), this is one of the more useful evenings you could spend right now.

3. Future Leader Summit (ChefTreff)

📅 Fri–Sat, April 10–11 · Congress Center Hamburg (CCH), Dammtor

Hamburg is hosting one of the biggest talent events in Europe next weekend — and if you're building something, early in your career, or just want to be in the room with people who are actually shaping things, this is worth your attention.

The Future Leader Summit brings together over 10,000 founders, students, young professionals, and researchers across two days at the CCH. Think 60+ sessions on six stages, hands-on masterclasses, a startup pitch battle, an investor meetup area, and an expo with 100+ companies — from DAX names like Otto and Hapag-Lloyd to tech-forward players like About You.

The speaker lineup is serious: Florian Heinemann (Project A), Judith DADA (Visionaries Club), Malte Kosub (Parloa), Petra Scharner-Wolff (CEO Otto Group), and a bunch more.

There's also a 24h AI Hackathon kicking off on Thursday the 9th if you want to get warmed up — plus company tours and a pre-event accreditation slot so you don't queue on the day.

Tickets start at €49 for students, €79 for young professionals, and €99 for founders (includes the pitch battle and investor meetings).

ElbScene will be here as well ⚓

4. IT-Freelancer Stammtisch Hamburg

📅 Wed, April 8 · 19:00–22:00 · The Irish Rover, Großneumarkt 8

One of Hamburg's most established tech community formats — running since 2011, every second Wednesday of the month. No agenda, no slides, no sponsors. Just developers, admins, and IT freelancers grabbing a drink and talking shop.

The evening kicks off with a short round of introductions, then flows into whatever's on people's minds — current projects, client war stories, the realities of self-employment, and the usual rabbit holes that happen when you put a room full of technical people together.

If you're freelancing in IT (or thinking about it), this is one of the more low-key and genuinely useful recurring meetups in the city.

👉 Reserve your spot via Meetup or at termine.it-freelancer.hamburg.

5. THRST. Session #11: Healthy You, Healthy Business!

📅 Thu, April 2 · 18:00–22:00 · Location TBD, Hamburg

There's a conversation that doesn't get enough airtime in the startup world: what happens to you when the hustle catches up.

THRST. is back for its 11th session, and this one's focused on the connection between personal health and sustainable performance — for founders, freelancers, and anyone running at full speed. The evening is built around the idea that real output requires actual energy, and that stress management, healthy routines, and mental clarity aren't soft topics — they're operational ones.

It's a 4-hour format with space for reflection, input, and networking. The venue is still being announced, so keep an eye on the Eventbrite page for updates.

6. Gründungstoolbox: Prototyping & User Feedback

📅 Tue, April 14 · 15:00–17:00 · HAW Hamburg, Steindamm 103, 2nd floor

You've got the idea. Now what?

This hands-on workshop from Startup Port's Gründungstoolbox series walks you through the step that most early-stage founders skip: turning your concept into something testable before you've built anything real. The session covers different prototyping approaches and includes a practical exercise to show how quickly a rough model can surface blind spots you wouldn't have caught otherwise.

It's run by Lisa Jessen and Mo Ponten, both startup advisors at Hamburg university institutions — so expect actual guidance, not just slides.

Good fit for students, researchers, and early founders at Hamburg's universities who are still in the idea or pre-seed stage.
